Ceiling molding for partition A
The partition is 13 ft. long so that length of molding is required (see Fig. 2). This is also shown in Table 1.
Frame for partition CD
The detail at A in Fig. 3 shows the partition and the corners C and D. As indicated in detail B, the corner at C requires three studs. The corner at D, because of the angle, requires two regular studs, d and g, one beveled 4 x 4-in. timber (shown at e and h) and a beveled stud, f.
The detail at D shows that 8 studs, each 8 ft. long, one 4 x 4-in. timber 8 ft. long and 17 lineal feet of sill and plate stock are required. As usual, Mr. Jones put this information in Table 1.
Siding for partition CD
The detail at E shows that 9 pieces of siding, each 8 ft. 6 in. long (about 75 lineal feet) and 8 pieces of 3/4 x 3/4-in. stock, each 8 ft. 6 in. long (about 75 lineal feet) are required (see Table 1).
Plasterboard for partition CD
The laundry side of this partition is to be covered with ordinary ½ in.-thick plasterboard. The width of the area to be covered is 6 in. less, due to the fact that a partition thickness (see Fig. 3) is subtracted from it. Thus, the area is 8 ft. x 8 ft. Plasterboard can be secured in 4 x 8 ft. sheets. Two such sheets will exactly cover the area (see Table 1).
Frame for partitions JK and KL
These two short partitions (see Fig. 1) can be considered as one straight partition, as shown in detail A of Fig. 4. As indicated in details A and B, 10 pieces of 8 ft. studs, including the beveled piece shown at b, are required. One piece of 4 x 4-in. timber, see a in detail A, is required. The sill and plate stock amount to 16 lineal feet (see Table 1).
