The gas service from the street is usually constructed by the gas company and is not under the jurisdiction of the plumber. The plumber's work begins at the house meter and consists of the pipe within the building.
Finishing. The term finishing is one applied to the setting of the plumbing fixtures. This must be done after the rooms in which they are to be installed have been decorated and are ready for occupancy. The bathtub because it is built in is the only exception to this rule. It must be set just before the plasterer or tile-setter is ready to apply the first coat of material to the rough wall.
