3. After all edges except the sink well and front metal have been scribed onto the felt, remove the tacks and place the pattern on the linoleum. Again fasten it securely with thumbtacks. Check the set of the scriber with the telltale mark previously made on the felt and then retrace the scribe lines from the felt to the linoleum, as shown in Figure 10.

4. The felt pattern can now be used as the under layer on the sink top. Fit it to the metal flanges to eliminate the ridge and provide a level base. Cement the felt to the cabinet top with linoleum paste. It is good practice to roughen the metal flanges with a rasp or coarse sandpaper before cementing the linoleum to assure a firm bond between linoleum and metal. Cut out the felt around the sink rim.
5. Spread linoleum paste over the body of the sink top, leaving uncemented a 2 to 3-inch wide band at the sink rim, along the face metal, around spigot openings, at wall edges and any other areas where water seepage might occur. These areas should then be spread with a marine deck covering adhesive which is waterproof. A few tubes of this adhesive will take care of most sink top requirements. Spread the deck covering adhesive with a toothed broad knife, and apply the linoleum immediately, making sure it is in close contact with the cove strip at all points. Roll thoroughly with a hand roller.

Underscribe and cut the linoleum to the metal facing of the cabinet top. Next, rough out the sinkwell, leaving at least 1" of linoleum overlapping the metal all around. Then underscribe and cut the linoleum to fit the sinkwell, as shown in Figure 11. Wipe with a damp cloth and iron smooth with the head of a hammer wherever the linoleum has been cut to fit the metal. Cement on the face of the goods, porcelain, or woodwork must be wiped off immediately with a rag moistened with kerosene.
