Since 1990, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of concealed weapons (or concealed carry) permits issued in the United States. The requirements for obtaining these permits vary from state to state. However, even if your state doesn’t require concealed weapons training, it’s a good idea to go through a program. Learning how to be safe while carrying a firearm, and knowing how to use it, are indispensable skills for anyone deciding to carry a weapon.

Concealed weapons laws vary dramatically in the United States. It is not just important to understand the laws in your state, but also in your local area as some cities and municipalities have enacted laws that differ from their home state. There are 48 U.S. States which allow citizens to carry certain concealed firearms in public, either without a permit or after obtaining a permit from state or local law enforcement. Illinois, Wisconsin, and the District of Columbia do not allow residents to carry concealed weapons under any circumstances.
