How To Select A Rug

A person about to purchase a rug usually starts with a definite price limit in mind. Therefore, in discussing the qualities of various rugs, it is perhaps best to divide the subject into three groups, namely: low, medium and high.

The selection of color and pattern is a matter of personal taste and depends entirely upon the education and natural talents of the purchaser. The question of durability is not always determined by the quality as represented by price, because durability in the true sense of the word involves the length of time during which the beauty and original appearance of a carpet or rug are retained. Sometimes a floor covering loses entirely its original beauty and appearance long before it is worn out as a fabric.
