ACTING AS A SCREEN BETWEEN THE FRONT DOOR AND THE LIVING ROOM, THIS ISLAND ENTRY WALL PROVIDES STORAGE SPACE ON BOTH SIDES. ON THE ENTRY SIDE THERE IS A ROOMY wardrobe closed by sliding doors with two cupboards, one of which is large enough for card tables and the other to hold things that are picked up as you go out. The room side has a large recess backed by a mirror. There are also shelves and drawers to hold accessories.

HERE'S A CLEAN-LINED, EASILY CONSTRUCTED BUILT-IN THAT PROVIDES PLANNED STORAGE SPACE FOR EVERYTHING FROM DESK SUPPLIES TO RECORD PLAYER. THE PHOTO SHOWS ONLY sections 1 and 4 of the four sections which are illustrated below. Magazines and newspapers can be hung over the rods provided in unit 1, and bookshelves and radio are also located here. Section 2 holds record player, records and books or decorative objects; No. 3 has additional shelf space and a cupboard for games, movie projector and other entertainment equipment. Section 4 holds a built-in desk which folds out of sight when not in use.

The built-in consists of what amounts to four plywood boxes or sections. The sections are hung on the wall about 6" from the floor to provide toe space. By adding or subtracting sections —or by altering dimensions—you can make this storage wall fit the available area exactly.
