Sewing Center OPENING THE TWO SMALLER DOORS EXPOSES SHELVES WHERE MATERIALS AND WORK IN PROGRESS CAN BE STORED. THERE ARE ALSO TRAYS IN WHICH PATTERNS CAN BE FILED FOR
Above the sewing-machine compartment is a sliding shelf which holds 45 spools of thread on pegs. Next above are three trays for small items such as buttons, tape measure, thimbles, needles and the like. Next higher are two large trays to hold trimming, bias binding, small remnants of material and other similar things. The highest compartment on this side is to hold sleeve board, iron and sponging equipment.
Opening the large door of the tall compartment discloses the full-length mirror which is fastened on the back of the door. There are hooks in this compartment for hanging dresses; and the ironing board, dress form, yardstick and other such large articles find a place here.
At the top is a compartment with sliding doors which may hold other sewing equipment, or it can be used for miscellaneous storage. This compartment is intended to fill the space remaining to the ceiling.
It will be noticed that certain dimensions on the drawings are circled and noted as "nominal" dimensions. This means that it might be more convenient and economical to vary them slightly.
