books books

OVEN AND BROILER COMPARTMENTS ARE MADE INTO A SINGLE UNIT BY WESTERN-HOLLY. THE TOP-BURNER UNITS ARE AVAILABLE IN TWO 4-BURNER MODELS, ONE 36" LONG, THE OTHER 42" long. An aluminum alloy griddle can be furnished to fit over two burners. The oven and broiler and the cooking top units can be had in stainless steel, white, pastel yellow, blue, green, pink and desert sand (tan). Antique bronze can be had on the oven unit only.

The hood above the cooking top unit has recessed lights and exhaust fan. The wallpaper on the far wall gives a three-dimensional illusion and the tall closet, which fits between the studs of the wall, contains an ironing board that folds down. The electric outlet for the iron is conveniently near. Translucent corrugated plastic sliding doors on the wall cabinets permit objects behind to be identified without exposing them to view.

Built-In Refrigerator And Freezer

REVCO MAKES THIS ELECTRIC REFRIGERATOR AND FREEZER COMBINATION IN
stainless steel, antique copper, buttercup yellow or white. Custom colors to match or contrast with the kitchen color scheme are also available. Units can be mounted one above the other as in the photograph, side by side, or face to face across the room. The refrigerator unit has a capacity of 8.4 cubic feet and the freezer 6.3 cubic feet. Exterior dimensions of both are identical. Doors can be supplied to swing either to the right or to the left. The compressor can be mounted above the units as shown in both the photograph and the drawing, or it can be mounted below or beside the cabinet, or it can be under the floor.

The textured natural wood surface of the drawer and lower cupboard fronts contrasts most effectively with the sleek smoothness of the other kitchen equipment. Notice the eye-level bank of small drawers which are usually lacking in most kitchens. They hold the spices, herbs and other seasonings for which a place is not generally provided, and the small implements that are always lost in large drawers. The translucent corrugated plastic panel in back of the work surface has fluorescent lamps behind it which give a shadow-free, glareless light that is a revelation. The wire baskets on the wall hold fruits and vegetables that ordinarily would be stored away out of sight and might be forgotten until they were spoiled. The decorative value of vegetables, for once, has been appreciated here.
