OPERATION: This system is designed for fast operation. While line A is in operation line B is being set up. When line B is set, it is turned on at the double valve wye and line A turned off. Line A is then moved 60 feet and re-set. 6() feet of the main or header line is then moved to extend the header line for the next set of line B. By this method of using a wet and dry lateral line the system is in continuous operation.

This type of system is used when the soil will take water fast and where it is necessary to cover the ground more often with a lighter application. Operating in daytime only, for two 8 hour shifts each day 40 acres can be covered with one inch of water in 2 days time.

Three 40 acre fields can be irrigated with this system in 7 days operating time. Allowing one day to move the system from one field to another 120 acres can be irrigated every 8 days. Lateral lines and sprinklers are allowed to operate in each position 11 to 12 hours, which will put on about 3 1/2 inches of rain. Once in the morning and in the evening, first one lateral and then the other is shut down, by simply closing the valve tee on that line, and move to a new position. This will require only about 30 minutes for each line, or 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the evening, to water 40 acres with 3 1/2 inches of rain every 11 days.
